QUESTION
(2009): Apparently there is
no dress code at 'Collared - London', but I don't want to feel out of place. What
are most people choosing to wear . .
ANSWER:
Visitors to 'Collared' can wear just what they choose, but
as 'Collared' is themed on Slaves and Masters and their relationships, some may wish to enter into the spirit of the evening by wearing clothing
kink or fetish gear
appropriate to their role. Someone adopting the dominant role of a
Master may choose to wear boots of the Doc Martin type, jeans or black leather trousers, and possibly
a leather shirt, or waistcoat. Many Masters of the 'traditional type'
wear leather 'Muir caps' to complete their outfit. A Master may require
his slave to be completely naked except for his collar, or if in public
view to wear just his underwear and a leather harness. If permitted to
choose his own clothing, skin tight rubber T shirts and shorts, or jock
straps with boots or trainers are common place, as is football kit. A growing number of subs and slaves are
also involved in the 'Puppy scene' - a role play
activity always of
interest to visitors, so you won't be suprised to see Dog Masks and
tails. But whatever slaves wear, a collar is almost mandatory, so you will see a lot of those when you visit 'Collared' - see the opening night archive photos for examples. Many visitors, as well as
some Masters and slaves, will simply choose to socialise and feel quite content wearing casual street
clothes. Whatever you choose, you won't be out of place!
QUESTION (2009): The
club night is promoted as one for Slave Boys, their Masters, and
followers, with sexual activity often mentioned. Is sexual activity
common? . . .
ANSWER:
'Collared' is an adult male (18yo+) club event attracting all ages and types of Gay men, and a number of Bi-sexual men. All are welcome, and the same applies to all visitors who may be exploring their
kink fetishes and fantasies - fantasies which are far more common than you might think. Men being men, sexual urges
frequently develop into more, so we'll leave the rest to your
imagination. The club has
'a dark room' and condoms and lube are supplied free of charge. Please
note that 'Watersports' are not permitted in any part of the club.
QUESTION
(2009): I heard that bondage and
punishment takes place at 'Collared'. What exactly does that mean . . .
ANSWER:
Bondage, restraint,
and corporal punishment have always been part of a slaveboys lifestyle.
For the benefit of visitors, the club holds demonstrations of such
activities using volunteers (usually regular 'Collared' slaveboys). Visitors
are not expected to take part - although requests are not uncommon and
will be considered!
Everything you may see is of course entirely consensual.
QUESTION
(2009): I am not likely to
want to do more than socialise and perhaps meet new friends on my first
visit - is this quite normal? . . .
ANSWER:
It is totally normal!
You will be one of many. Once you have been to the club a few times
you may be tempted to get more ambitious, but that is entirely your
choice.
QUESTION
(2009): The name 'Slave Boys'
implies a very youthful event. I am a middle aged man who has always
been involved in the fetish and Master & slave scene, but fear I
wont fit in at 'Collared' . . .
ANSWER:
I am pleased to say
you are totally wrong!
'Collared' welcomes members and guests of all ages
shapes & sizes! There are of course many slaveboys in the immediate 18+ age
group, but far more who are not. There are also Masters of all age
groups up to 80yo. You will
feel totally comfortable and safe at 'Collared London' regardless of your age
or role - so come and enjoy!
QUESTION
(2009):
I heard that club members will soon be able to buy Fetish gear
and clothing at discount prices from one of the best fetish shops in London. Is this true?
. . .
ANSWER:
Yes it is! We are pleased to be associated with
'Fetish Freak' - London's
most 'go ahead' fetish gear suppliers, who are able to give a 15%
discount to members when buying clothing, gear, and
equipment - and they stock almost everything, in addition to carrying
out alterations and repairs to rubber and leather items. They are based in Vauxhall
London, and offer this substantial discount on their already very competitive prices to
'Collared' membership card holders.
QUESTION
(2009):
Some clubs have no rules regarding photographs
being taken, others have a rule of no photography whatsoever. What is
the ruling at 'Collared' . . .
ANSWER:
'Collared London' understand some peoples concerns over this, so
random photography (including the use of mobile phone cameras) is not
permitted. The club has its own official photographer who will
take pictures on request, as well as for the 'Collared' website galleries,
but only after obtaining your permission. If you prefer not to be photographed at
all, that's fine - its your choice!
QUESTION
(2009):
I noticed some Club rules on display at the
entrance last visit. Does this indicate a change of policy, over what has
been such a friendly and enjoyable night? . . .
ANSWER:
NO! - nothing has changed! It's simply so first
time visitors are fully aware of the nature of the event and how they
will be expected to behave! They then make sure they behave themselves to
avoid being asked to leave! Please inform one of the Team members should
anything concern you, or you may contact us in confidence via this email link: collared@ds-uk.net
QUESTION
(2009):
'Collared' held an event in Manchester earlier this
year. Is
this going to be a regular event? . . .
ANSWER:
The event in July 2009 was 'a pilot to
test the Manchester water' - as was the event in Sept 2009. The
'Collared' team
in London has taken in all
the feedback, and have looked at the options involved. I myself received many emails
concerning the events, and thank everyone for their input. There may be more exploratory events
in the future, and also events in Birmingham and Blackpool, albeit just
socials.
QUESTION
(2009):
I was at 'Collared' in London last night (July 2009)
and had an amazing time despite at first not knowing anyone. One
of the slaves made a point of
making me welcome, something I've never
experienced in any other club, and I ended up having lots of
fun! But the main reason for my email is to ask about the cages
which you have. They appear to be the perfect restrictive size even for
a tall slave (the slave that welcomed me was locked in one later in the
evening!) so could you tell me who supplies them? - I may buy one myself. Thanks in advance . . .
ANSWER: Compliments will get
you everywhere - thanks! I think it was me that spoke to you, so Im very
glad you had a good evening. The cages? - yes they are new, as is the
pillory (stocks) and the big bondage chair. I didn't have anything to do
with their purchase, so I don't think I can help much, although I will make some enquiries and get back to you. Once again,
I'm very
pleased you had a good night . . . ! (Update
20/08/09 - hope the information re the equipment supplier was helpful!)
QUESTION
(2009):
I understand that people going to the 'Collared' Club
at Central Station London sometimes meet at a bar before the event starts to allow new visitors to meet people.
It seems a good idea for those that might come on their own. Is this
still happening, and where does the meet take place . . .
ANSWER: Yes
this has become a regular thing and is great for newcomers that might be
coming alone. Pre-event drinks are in the ground floor bar immediately
above the club.
QUESTION
(2009):
Thanks for a brilliant night out - I've been twice
now and loved every minute. But can you tell me if the cages, stocks,
tie-up chair, spanking furniture etc are only for the demo sessions, or
can they be used by anyone throughout the evening . . .
ANSWER:
The
equipment is there for everyone to use! You don't need to ask! If it is
needed for one of the demonstrations we will have to ask you to make it
available of course, but otherwise feel free! There are usually Doms or
Tops to get involved with if you're alone. You can also bring and use
your own gear, restraints & rope if you wish.
QUESTION
(2009):
I visited the club in August 2009 with my pup
(nearly 20yo) who was asked for age verification by your staff. We were not carrying passports or driving licences simply because of
never having had this happen elsewhere. Fortunately we only live a mile
or so away, so were able to get documents from home quite easily, but
this could have caused problems had we come a long way. Your
staff were extremely courteous
so have no complaints about that, but if we had not been able to . . . (edit)
ANSWER:
I
hope you appreciate our staff were simply doing their job! Some pups and slaves
look very young for their
age, so age checks become essential. I shouldn't comment on how other clubs have dealt with
this issue, but 'Collared
- London' is committed to offering a safe environment for everyone, which
includes ensuring
all visitors are adults of the minimum legal age of 18+ years. However, I'm glad the
matter was resolved satisfactorily,
and hope you both had a great evening. Do please ensure you bring age
verification documents with you on your next visit!
QUESTION
(2010):
My
friend thinks you now need to be a member to get into the club. Is this a new idea or have I got it wrong.
ANSWER:
'Collared' is now a 'private members' Club which gives a lot of
advantages to everyone, but non members can be signed in as a guest by an
existing member if they prefer not to join, so no one has to be left out! Give us 48hrs notice and you can pick up your
own membership card at the club for just £2. You then save £2 on every
visit to the club, and get 15% discount on everything you buy at FetishFreak the
Vauxhall fetish gear shop! It is hoped retailers of other genre's will be included in the
scheme before long. Good times ahead!
QUESTION (2010):
I went to 'Collared' with my B/F earlier this
month and it was excellent - cant wait for the next one. He thought some of the guys from 'Lukes Lair' in Manchester were there -
would it have been them?
ANSWER:
That's
right - Master Martin and a number of his guys came down from Manchester and took
the opportunity to model the range of 'Andrew Christian' underwear which
really is rather nice! We'll be seeing Master Martin and his boi's at
future events as well, so come and enjoy!
QUESTION (2010):
I've just heard that Collared may be leaving Union at
Vauxhall, and moving back to Central Station? I hope it is, because its
easier for me to get to, and I really like Central Station as they have
rooms and do meals.
ANSWER:
Yes
that's right - it was announced today (30th May). Union was a good venue and of
course slightly bigger which we thought would be advantageous, but we found
more than a few problems not least being
a conflict between the finish of our event, and the start of the
next one. Other issues such as the toilets, cloakroom charges, limited choice of drinks etc, could
possibly have been resolved, but we decided it would be best for the
club, the members, and all involved, if we reverted back to our
original venue which had worked so well for us since day one. So from
June 26th, we are back at Central Station - Kings Cross, N1 9SD!
PS: Its a good
idea to put your name down if you're attending as we have come quite
near to capacity in the past. Just go to www.clubcollared.com
and 'sign up' for the event to ensure you get in, and to become a member
of course!
QUESTION (2010):
I would love to come to a Collared night, but am
currently single and have no one to go with. I'm going to come someday
but will have to wait until . . . (edit)
ANSWER:
Heavens above! If there is one thing
that will cause you no problems, its
going to 'Collared' on your own! In fact if you wish, you can meet up
with the guys in the ground floor bar before it all starts. Failing that
one of the team will tell you anything you need to know, and perhaps even introduce
you to people. We know it can be difficult when you go to most Gay bars or Clubs
not knowing people, but everyone at Collared understands that
and will do their best to point you in the right direction! Just get
yourself there and enjoy . . . !
